A deposit is charged to secure your reservation. The full value of the deposit is deducted from the bill on your visit. If you have a gift voucher, this can be held in lieu of a deposit – please email us to make your booking. At the discretion of the restaurant, you may be able to reschedule, but all reschedules made less than 48 hours ahead of your visit are entirely discretionary and will waive any future cancellation options.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE ALLERGIES OR DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
We can offer an alternative pescatarian or gluten-free menu with advance notice – please notify us at least 48 hours ahead of your visit. Due to the nature of the experience, we do not offer a vegetarian, vegan, or dairy-free menu. If anyone in your party has allergies or additional dietary requirements please email us before booking to discuss, as we are limited in the modifications and amendments that can be offered.
HOW LONG IS THE EXPERIENCE?
We suggest you allow at least 2.5 hours for the experience. Lunch starts promptly at 1.30pm and dinner at 7pm - please arrive on time to ensure you’re able to enjoy the full menu. Doors open half an hour before service should you wish to join us for a drink ahead of your meal. The table is yours for the entirety of service and we invite you to stay after service for drinks - the restaurant closes at 4.30pm at lunch and 10.30pm at dinner.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Our address is Albatross, Newhall Square, Birmingham, B3 1RU. The restaurant is located in Newhall Square, a secluded spot on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter, which can be hard to find. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, the easiest way to reach us is to navigate to Travelodge on Charlotte Street - to the right of the hotel entrance is a walkway that will bring you into Newhall Square. Albatross is located on the ground floor of the old brick building on the right edge of the Square.
The restaurant does not have a car park. Metered street parking is available on Newhall Street and Charlotte Street, and there is a multi-storey NCP car park on Newhall Street. The closest train stations are Birmingham New Street, Snowhill, Jewellery Quarter and Saint Paul’s, all of which are 10-15 minutes’ walk, or a short taxi ride away.
IS THE RESTAURANT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
The restaurant has step-free access and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. However, due to the nature of the experience, our restaurant seating is all high counter, which may not be suitable for everyone. If you would like to discuss your requirements and the options available please email us to discuss.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
We run a relaxed venue and encourage guests to come dressed however they feel comfortable. We’re not the fashion police.
CAN I BRING MY KIDS?
The Albatross experience is intended for adults – we do not have a children's menu. We welcome well-behaved children over the age of 12 who will be able to enjoy the full tasting menu. If you have any questions, please email us.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
Our kitchen and restaurant constitute one shared, open space, meaning we cannot allow dogs or other pets, although exceptions will of course be made for service animals.
